Sharon was born in Houston, Texas at St. Joseph's Hospital in July 1946. She attended HISD public schools--beginning at Anna B. Kelso in 1952,continuing on to Charles F. Hartmann in 1958 and finally Jesse H. Jones Senior High in 1961. Sharon graduated in 1964 and that fall became a freshman at UH Central. Marrying during her junior year, Sharon and her first husband completed degrees and she went with her husband after he volunteered for the Air Force. Sadly, their marriage did not last and they were divorced in 1984. Five years later, Sharon met and married Gary and also became a mother, without suffering the pangs of child-birth, to Gary's son Patrick. Today, Sharon and Gary live west of Houston and enjoy church, church friends, traveling when they can afford it, their kids and grand-kids. Sharon retired in June 2008 after 22 years of public school teaching. She hasn't regretted retiring!
