Hi, I'm Anne Van Patten! You may have seen some of my posts on various genealogical sites. So, after researching my roots for about the last 20 years and growing my database to nearly 18,000, I thought it was about time I'd start my own forum and share my knowledge, tips and ideas with others who are searching, too. I've spent countless hours scouring the Internet, traveling to research libraries and archives all over the East coast, conducting interviews, and meeting many "cousins" along the way who have been more than helpful.

I've found so many interesting facts and heard so many interesting stories! I grew up in the Baltimore suburbs and most of my ancestors on my mother's side came from Maryland, particularly Baltimore. In fact, I found out that one of my great-great grandfathers owned land called Cole's Harbor, which is now Baltimore Harbor!! I've even found out secrets that have been hushed by my grandmother's family for decades!
