Genealogy has become a hobby, a passion, re-learning history I had long forgot through research for our ancestors. I especially enjoy researching records in courthouses and libraries and taking photographs of places our families lived when we travel. It's fun to find cousins I didn't know and correspond with others who are searching for their ancestors who may turn out to be the same as our families.
Eleven years ago family records, primarily from my maternal side, were given to me. They included stories, letters, names and dates my mother and her cousins had shared with each other over the years. They included several generations of names and wonderful photographs of great grandparent's taken by my mother's cousin, Charles Eberhart. Mother's families included Mayo, Huff, Darling, Applegate, Hancock, Proctor, Isbell and Maddox among others. Seven years ago I began adding paternal and spouse families including Post, Reed, Worley, Copeland, Chapman, Hays, Goss, Zirkle, Rider, Heskett, Park, Richardson, McClanahand, Whitehead and others.
