I love being a family historian! In addition to researching my family's past, I love preserving the present in scrapbooks so that family members will be able to enjoy our family history in the future.
Adding memorials to Find a Grave is a wonderful way to honor our family members as well as providing vital information for future research.
It is important to me to know where family members are buried. It gives me comfort to find them and recognize their contribution to who I am today.
After being a member of Find A Grave for 8 years, I am seeing a new trend that I must comment on. The purpose of 'Find a Grave' is to, well, find a grave. I have found many new entries for family members and looked at them excitedly only to find that no cemetery is listed! In other words, their grave has not been found! I know that people want all their family members linked, but that can be done in you family history files. Let's find those graves instead, so that we can truly honor of family members.
