I have had an interest in genealogy for many years. I have been researching our family history for the past 35 years. My biggest set back was about 10 years ago, I had close to 1500 names and family records entered and hundreds of family pictures scanned and recorded. My computer crashed, no problem I had backups, wrong, my backups were bad. I am slowly rebuilding.
I have taught genealogy merit badge with the boy scouts.
This website, Find A Grave, is the greatest thing since grandma's lye soap. I hope they can continue to keep it free.
