I began my genealogy work about 30 yrs ago, in hopes of finding my fathers heritage. It was a difficult journey but finally put the pieces together. After I had done that I found the Peake gelealogy online which had been done by John T. Suchy. I am so glad I did not see his file during my initial searching, but when I did I found that his simply VERIFIED all that I had found. Up to finding his file online, I had spent the first 15 years piecing the Peake names together.
My family names are Peake, Eisenbach, Kunkel, Stevens,Tarbell,Henning, Moffett,Lotspeich, Holland, Worden Most of my memorials are those of these family names and I will not transfer them.
If you must copy and paste the BIO info from a memorial page and into your account on Ancestry or My Heritage Tree or any other genealogy website, Please Credit your Source. I don't mind any family member having the info, but to just take it as yours is disrespectful considering all the big$$$$$ and time, I have spent to obtain it. 30 years......and you get it in minutes and for FREE. Shame/shame. NOTE: It is called plagiarism...
This has happened many times with the Lotspeich name. They seem to have no shame. I love to share what I have, but my info was used,(info they never had before) and not even a thank you mamm, or an invite on the reunion trip they took to GA., the homeplace of the Lotspeich's I found for them. Sour Grapes, yeah it is. Makes me want to never share another note with this family. My endeavor here is not to get a Kgillion memorials under my belt and then dissappear and become inactive, personally I am not that important to have such an EGO, my work is to inform my cousins out there searching for their family. I love hearing from them and share. I think the Kgillion memorial data entry folks drop out and become the F.A.G. police................
PS: I am thrilled when a NEW Cousin contacts me via F.A.G.
