I'm just some old native Bakersfield (CA) guy who likes poking around in cemeteries finding stuff out about people and sharing it with others. My paternal great grandfather John Minter was the second recorded non-native person born in Kern County after it was formed in 1866. My mother's father JH Dewar founded a local ice cream parlor back in 1909 and it's still going strong.
Seriously, though, I am dedicated to finding out all I can about branches and limbs and twigs and leaves of my family tree. I have been the chosen/designated researcher by various family branches and do all I can to gather and accurately enter all I can find out from those willing to assist in this effort. Any help anybody can lend is much appreciated by me and all of those family members.
As a direct descendent of great grandparents born and raised in Grezzo di Bardi, Parma Province, Italy (and arrived in Palo Alto, California in 1883) I have made it my quest to find and connect all of those born in Grezzo di Bardi and Bardi who were born a Bracchi, Fulgoni, or Rabaiotti, three families which intermingled very often. In 2010 I spent many many months going through church records (in Latin) and civil records (in Italian) entering every name I could find of the three families as well as their spouses from the mid 1700's to the mid 1900's. This has taken me to concentrating on South Wales for a few years now. My gg grandfather is a 2nd cousin to Giacomo Bracchi, considered to be the first of the Bardigiani to establish an ice cream parlor or soda fountain or fish and chips shop in South Wales.
