Bio

I was the president of The New Market Historical Society from 2002 to 2008. The New Market Historical Society in co-operation with the New Hampshire Old Graveyard Association and several local descendants have spent years restoring the graveyard of Wentworth Cheswell. There was not one headstone standing in the original granite bases when we began! I previously lived in the home which is the 3rd home on the foundation which Wentworth built his home on in 1768.A letter from a woman named Sandy who with her husband (a descendant of Wentworth Cheswell) from Sacramento,California, stirred my interest in the legacy of Wentworth Cheswell and the family graveyard which is located about 150 feet from this home. The included picture (purportedly of Wentworth Cheswell) was not posted by me. In fact the picture is "NOT" Wentworth Cheswell. The picture is actually "Barzillai Lew". Unfortunately there are no known photos(as cameras had not been invented prior to his death in 1817) or paintings. If you are the individual who posted this picture would you kindly remove it?
