Bio

Born and raised in NE Nebraska. My mother was the family researcher, "old school", writing letters, calling people and keeping meticulous records, newspapers clippings and photos as well as hand written trees.
I began my own research at 16 with my paternal lines in SW Virginia (Grayson and Henry Counties) and NW North Carolina (Ashe, Alleghany), where my paternal grandparents were born and raised before moving to Nebraska. My maternal ancestors (Crook/Muffly/Edwards/Blesh) came to NE from England to PA/NY and on to IL/WI/IA and Nebraska
As an Army veteran, and descendant of many military ancestors, male and female I have researched their military records for years. Taken, as I grew up to every family cemetery on Memorial day to place flowers, I became fascinated with learning the "stories" of those interred.
