Bio

Find A Grave is a wonderful resource to be used by those of us who would like to remember our departed friends and relatives. I frequently visit the memorials of my loved ones as the links are provided to help me move along with ease to anyone I choose to visit.

Family members can now connect to the memorials I am honored to manage. I like to imagine the joy of discovering new and exciting information about one's heritage by visiting memorials posted here.

In his book, "How Green Was My Valley", Richard Llewellyn writes:
"I saw behind me those who had gone, and before me those who are to come. I looked back and saw my father and his father and all our fathers, and in front to see my son and his son, and the sons upon sons beyond. And their eyes were my eyes. As I felt so they had felt, and were to feel, as then, so now, as tomorrow and forever. . . . for I was in a long line that had no beginning and no end. And the hand of his father grasped my father's hand and his hand was in mine, and my unborn son took my right hand and all, up and down the line that stretched from Time-That-Was to Time-That-Is and Is-Not-Yet, raised their hands to show the link. And we found that we were one...."

In her book, "Voices in Your Blood -- Discovering Identity through Family History", G. G. Vandagriff writes:

"Discovering your heritage is a homecoming in the truest sense. The entity that we call "me" is the most recent chapter in a long line of stories, the stories belonging to those who make up our pedigree. Our ancestors have met life's challenges in their own particular ways, and in doing so have bequeathed to each of us a uniquely individual heritage. Part of that heritage contains burdens that are difficult, and part of it contains our richest blessings."

A few select "voices in my blood" follow here:

I am a direct descendant of Jean Grou, Memorial ID 185295622, an early French Canadian Pioneer of Montreal, Quebec, owner of the land where the "Bataille de la Coulée Grou" took place and where he was burned alive at the stake by the Iroquois.

Major Ralph Hart, Memorial ID 49081532, my seventh great-grandfather was the brother of Captain Edward Hart, Memorial ID 87017993, father of the Honorable John Hart, Memorial ID 2731, of Hopewell, New Jersey, Signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Sabastian Schallus Shallus Schaulis, Memorial ID142122922, my fifth gr-grandfather, and his brother, Valentine, Memorial ID 21482675, immigrated on the same ship, the Lydia, to Philadelphia in 1749. It is here that his nephew, Jacob Shallus or Shalus Memorial ID14826759 was the engrosser or penman of the original copy of the United States Constitution. The handwritten document that Shallus engrossed is on display at the National Archives Building in Washington.

Enjoy your visit to Find A Grave Memorials where your "Voices in Your Blood" can be discovered.

Warm Regards and Blessings to You and Yours,
