Bio

I've been studying my family's history for about 25+ years. This has been one of my passions learning where my family originated from and why they came to this country leaving everything behind. Most often it included leaving family not just possessions! I've learned a lot about history along the way which is so very interesting!

My paternal Greek family originated from Chora, Chios, Greece. They began immigrating to Monesson, Pa 1909 working in the steel mill. My maternal family are all from England, mostly from Manchester and Derbyshire. My mother met my father in England while he was with the Army Air Corps. She immigrated to the USA in March 1950 after her marriage to my father in Oct 1949 just before his tour was completed. He was recalled to the USAF and retired a career man.

So, I along with my 3 siblings are Air Force brats having lived in many places (including England where we got to know the maternal side of our family). It gave us a strong exposure to other cultures and an independant way of life. I hated moving as a child, making promises to 'always keep in touch' and losing connections along the years. I grew up feeling a sense of loss. But I learned that I came to appreciate the thoughts, views and ways of life of most cultures and developed a true interest in it all. I'm able to converse with most anyone, see their view even though I don't always agree. I believe I'm blessed with that trait because I've learned so much. I have a strong love of God, family and the USA.
