I'm a transitioner, that is, a lay caregiver for terminally ill patients as they go through their final stages. I have been performing this service for the past ten years in a local AIDS ward for the Whitman-Walker Clinic in suburban Washington. In 2002 I won the Clinic's Gene Frey Award for service to the AIDS-affected community.
In my "spare time" I hold down a full-time day job and write poetry, both serious and silly.
I'm 67, divorced, ex-Roman Catholic, and my interests include literature, classical music, world peace and cats.
