I think some people tend to forget the fact that this is ultimately a *memorial site*, and not strictly a genealogy site. Not everyone here is a researcher! There are actual relatives mourning people they actually knew and loved. Or honoring ancestors they didn't get to meet but love just the same. So please, keep that in mind when you, the disconnected researcher, tell them that their information is "wrong" and that they "need to change it". Some of the requests I have seen are actually demands, and that's not right. And just because the information you have is different than what I may have doesn't necessarily mean I'm wrong, because more often than not mine comes from actual family records, which don't always match vital documents. It's no wonder some people get bent out of shape when someone suggests a "correction". Vital documents, especially death certificates, are not always accurate in the area of biographical data, because the informant may not have *their* information right.
