I remember listening to my parents, their siblings, in-laws and Grandparents talking when everyone came to visit about people long gone. I knew they meant something to them but they were just faceless names to me.
Then in the early 1970's, a thick three ring binder showed up filled with the names of my father's side of the family (Vernon) and my interest was piqued. It went back to three English brothers who came to America with William Penn and in among all those long ago names was a couple pages with mine on them and I felt important.
It took me a long time to realize just how important I was to the idea of maintaining that family history and many others. So in 2000, I began my journey into Genealogy and have found that ALL of us are important to the families that came before us and those who will come after with the research that we do today.
