McChesney, Ruth b. May 17, 1899 d. July 8, 2001 Daughter of John T Wheeler and Rachel C Rushin and 2nd wife of Ralph S. McChesney. Better known as "Miss Wheeler" by her students.
She lived most of her adult life in Thomasville. Mrs. McChesney was retired from the Thomasville City Schools, where she taught for all but three of the 44 years of her teaching career. Vaughn, John C. b. February 24, 1824 d. September 10, 1875 Civil War Confederate Brigadier General. At the start of the Civil War, he was offered positions in the Confederate Government but chose to be elected Colonel of the 3rd Tennessee Regiment.
