Grove, Orval Leroy b. August 29, 1919 d. April 20, 1992 Major League Baseball Player. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound right-hander pitched his entire career with the Chicago White Sox from 1940 to 1949. He had his best season in 1943, when he was 15-9 with a 2.75 earned run average for 216 innings and 18 complete games in 25 starts. He won his first nine decisions that year and had a no-hitter broken up on July 8 by New York's Joe Gordon, who doubled with one out in the ninth inning. Mauro, Carmen b. November 10, 1926 d. December 19, 2003 Major League Baseball Player. He was an outfielder for four seasons with the Chicago Cubs, Brooklyn Dodgers, Washington Senators, and Philadelphia Athletics. His best year was 1953, when he had a season high 48 hits with a .255 batting average. In 167 career games, Mauro had 96 hits with a .231 lifetime batting average. (Bio by: C.S.) Reagan, Maureen Elizabeth b. January 4, 1941 d. August 8, 2001 She was the daughter of former US President Ronald Reagan and actress Jane Wyman. After her father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in 1994 she became a spokesperson for the Alzheimer's Organization on his behalf. She found out in 1996 that she had malignant melanoma and received numerous treatments to battle the disease. When she started having spasms and seizures it was discovered that her melanoma had returned and spread to her brain. She died less than three months later.
