Kitchell, Aaron b. July 10, 1744 d. June 25, 1820 US Congressman, US Senator. A blacksmith by trade, during the Revolutionary War he served as a Private and Wagoneer in the Morris County Militia. He later served as a member of the Committee of Observation of Hanover, as Commissioner of Forfeited Estates, and in the Provincial Congress of New Jersey. Young, David Philom b. January 27, 1781 d. February 15, 1852 Astronomer. He was a co-founder of "The Farmers Almanac," one of America's oldest publications. Noted for both his brilliance and his eccentricity, he had a natural aptitude for mathematics. He added Philom ("lover of mathematics") to his signature, variously using it as a middle name or as a soubriquet. While employed as a schoolmaster, he was greatly respected for his scholarship, but remained somewhat unpopular with his pupils.
