Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Winter, 97, of Highland who died Tuesday at midnight were held Thursday at 9 a.m. from St. Paul's Catholic church in Highland, with the Rev. William Whalen officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph cemetery in Highland.
She was born Nov. 20, 1855, the daughter of the late Christian and Annie Hotz. She was the widow of Emmanuel Winter who was a marshal in Highland for 40 years. He passed away in 1928.
She is survived by two sons, William and Elmer Winter of Highland; four daughters and one sister, Mrs. Mary Dumbeck of St. Louis. Other survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Esther Kreuiter and Mrs. Bertha Baird, and two nephews, Charles and Bert Hotz, all of Edwardsville.
