Elvira (Ella) Cooper was the daughter of Thomas Cooper and Sarah Ann Harter Cooper. Ella and Louis Boon were married on August 14, 1879 in Monroe County, Iowa. Louis and Ella had six children: Luther, Richard, Mary Ann, Elsie Alice, Sylvia, and Dorothy (Dora) Mae. Louis died in 1908. In 1910 Ella married Perry Ervin and they lived in Waynesville, Dewitt County, Illinois for 16 years. Perry died on April 27, 1926 in Waynesville, Illinois. Ella moved to Muskogee, Muskogee County, Illinois where she died on December 15, 1928 and is buried in Muskogee. The announcement of her funeral service in the Muskogee Daily Phoenix on December 19, 1928, noted that she was survived by two daughters, Mrs. George H. Dye (Dorothy Mae Boone) and Mrs. Pearl Davis (Mary Ann Boone). She was buried in the Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee

In the Center Cemetery in Fidelity, Jasper County, Missouri, there is a marker for BOONE 1926 and the Find-a-Grave information is for Elvira Boone. For many years, Boone genealogists listed Ella's death after June 13, 1926 in Fidelity, Jasper County, Missouri. Over time, 1926 became the accepted year of her death.
