Ernest A. Jones, Jr. of Camp Hill was found resting in eternal peace at his home this past Sunday, October 28, 2012. "Ernie" was born in Philadelphia on September 21, 1938. He was a self-made man in the field of transportation. His studies were in the business track at Northeast Catholic High School in Philadelphia where he graduated in 1956. As soon as he turned 18, he began his first job in transportation with the Reading Railroad as a stenographer. He worked his way up through the ranks to superintendent. After taking the Federal Civil Service exam, Ernie was hired by the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) where he worked for 10 years. He left the ICC as a licensed transportation specialist to pursue his career as an entrepreneur. While self-employed, he organized Transcorps Enterprises, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer until his death.
Ernie enjoyed traveling, gaming and the finer things in life. He enjoyed sharing his many blessings with his family. He also was an avid sports fan; the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies were his favorite teams to follow.
