Mrs. Edith Grace Clague, wife of T. H. Clague of ! Langdon, passed away at the Spencer hospital Tuesday afternoon, May 2, 1933, following a week's illness of pneumonia.
She was 40 years, nine months and 11 days of age.
Funeral services are being held this afternoon, Friday, at the Baptist church, Spencer, at two o'clock, preceded by a short prayer service at Cobb-Phelps funeral chapel at 1:30 o'clock. Rev. J. S. Schroder, pastor, is officiating, with Rev. J. E. Rolston of Sheldon assisting.
Casket bearers are Ralph Jones of Dickens, William Rhodes, S. A. Torbert, Guy Pullen, Ralph Chamberlain and Roy Hopkins.
Burial will be made at Riverside cemetery.
Mrs. Clague is survived by her husband and two sons, Berle Leland and Delbert Lee, aged 12 and 8 years; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Faulkender of Summit township; and five brothers and sisters, George, Jr., Congress Park, Illinois., Mrs. Ruth Coddington of Meadow Township, Merle, Lyle and May at home.
Mrs. Clague was born at Aurelia, Iowa, July 21, 1892, the oldest child in the Faulkender family.
She became affiliated with the Church of the Brethren, Dunkard, at that last place in 1905. In the spring of 1911, the family moved to Spencer.
Her marriage to Mr. Clague took place March 30, 1916There being no Dunkard representation in Spencer, Mrs. Clague and her husband united with the Spencer Baptist Church in 1919.
Whenever the opportunity afforded, she was employed in the interests of her God and His Church. She was beloved by her many friends and neighbors for her sweet disposition, her sterling character and her ever willingness to be of assistance. She will be greatly mourned in the Langdon and Spencer communities.
