Thelma Romaine Renninger was born in 1903. She was the daughter of Guy Burton and Pearl Della Renninger of Franklin, PA. Thelma was one of four children, Lon S., Thelma R., Lauris and Paul L. Thelma married Lon David (John) Knox Sr. in Franklin PA. Lon and Thelma had five children, Thelma Jean, Margaret Joan, Lon David Jr., Nadine Lousie, Charles Fredrick. and Mildred E. Thelma was gifted in sign language. Her younger brother Paul was deaf. They would sign at all family gatherings. Thelma loved the outdoors and hiking in the woods. She was a homemaker her entire life. She loved her children and grandchildren and spoiled us daily. She died peacefully in her sleep in 1974.
