Melvin Homer Snead, 66, of Victoria, died in a local hospital, Monday, June 8, 1992, after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Snead was born Jan. 2, 1926, in Victoria to the late Homer D. and Gladys Morris Snead. He was a graduate of Victoria Junior College and attended the University of Texas, World War II veteran after serving in the U. S. Navy and married the former Mary Gladys Bauer on Dec. 15, 1951. He was a member of the Lions Club, VFW, American Legion and was fleet manager for Atzenhoffer Chevrolet for 40 years.
Survivors: wife, Mary Gladys Snead; daughters, Cindy Schertz and Kathy Anderson, both of San Antonio; sons, Dennis M. and Kenneth E. Snead, both of Austin; sister, Bettye J. Norris of Victoria; brother, Eddie Lee Snead of Mineral; and four grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents.
Visitation 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Colonial Funeral Home chapel.
Services 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Fred Morgan officiating.
Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Colonial Funeral Home, Victoria, 578-3535.
Pallbearers: Milton Greeson Sr., Milton Greeson Jr., Al Klatt, George Horeka, David Janak and Dennis Schroeller.
