OBITUARY
Mrs. Queen Cook-Crooks was born in Holmes Co, O, March 2, 1838, departed this life in Waterloo, Sept 15, 1900, aged 62 years, 6 months and 13 days.
At an early age her mother died and shew as compelled to go from home, but found a parent in the home of Jacob Mouler where she was reared. Mrs Crooks was thrice married. In 1859 she was united in marriage to Louis Householder, to this union was born six children; Mr Milton H, Mrs Emma Steinmetz, of Akron, O, and Mrs Wilson Crooks, of Waterloo, survive her. In 1878 she was united in marriage to Wm. Crooks, and to this union was born one son, Warren. On Feb 16, 1884, she was united in marriage to Mr Robert Crooks, brother of her former husband, which brought together two families of small children, and she was a faithful mother to this large family. Mr and Mrs Crooks reared their children together with honor to themselves and all concerned. She was also a foster mother to Mr Harry Elkins, of Bryan, O, who highly esteemed her. Mrs Crooks in early life became a christian and united with the M E church in the winter of 1895 with her children united with the U B church and lived in the faith until the end came always anxious for song and prayer when visited by those that knew the worth of prayer. She was a great sufferer for five long years, but all this time cheerful and ready. She leaves a husband, children, grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn their loss.
Funeral took place at the U B church Sept 18, 1900. Revs S H Yager and S P Klotz officiating. The choir sang "Nearer My God, to Thee" by her special request. May she rest in peace.

Update 16 May 2022: Census records (1870, 1880, 1900) gives PA as place of birth, per contributor : James Craft (48985354). She lived much of her life in OH and IN. She married in DeKalb Co, IN and was married two times in DeKalb Co, IN. She was married one other time to a Householder, which is believed to be a first marriage as William married her as Queen Householder. Third marriage gives place of birth as PA also.
