Daughter of Dr. George D. & Margaret V. (NELMS) ADAIR, who married 24 JUN 1858 in Russell County, Alabama. George was a dentist and also operated a farm.

Mollie ADAIR married 25 NOV 1891 in Talbot County, Georgia, to William A. PHILLIPS.

1880 federal census of Talbotton (Militia District 685), Talbot County, Georgia, Dwelling #68 / Household #68, shows (all ADAIR except MUNN): George(43 GA SC SC), married, farmer; wife Margaret (40 AL VA VA), married, keeping house; son Pike (20 AL GA AL), single, farm laborer); son Vandonald (17) at school; daughter Molly (15) at school; daughter Ella (13) at school; daughter Sallie (11) at school; son Robert (4); son John (4); and servant Molly MUNN (50 GA GA GA), single.

1920 federal census of Militia District 675 (Upatoie District), Muscogee County, Georgia, Dwelling #112 / Household #116: William A. PHILLIPS (62 GA GA GA), married, farming a general farm; wife Mollie (55 AL AL AL), married; and sister[-in-law] Ella ADAIR (53 AL AL AL), single.

I'm pretty sure that the George D. ADAIR on the modern grave marker -- which also has the names of wife "Margrete," son George Robert, daughter Ella, and Mollie MUNN (who is reported to be a servant in their 1880 census household but was perhaps related in some way) -- is the same as Dr. G. (not C.!) D. ADAIR who has an inscribed headstone that appears to date from the time of his death.
