Mrs Emily Lee Deck Brown was born September 1, 1863 in Cumberland county and died on July 3, 1951 at the home of her son, Zebba Brown, at the age of 88. She was married to Alex Brown, who preceded her in death October 7, 1931. They had 2 sons, Otto, Cleveland, Oh; and Zebba of this community. There was a step-son, Marvin, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs Rinda Bilbrey, Overton county; Mrs Florence Winton, Bushnell, Fl; Mrs Edna Cobble, Rickman; and one brother, Oliver Deck, Overton county.
Mrs Brown was a good neighbor, always willing to lend a helping hand. She was a lover of flowers and of the outdoors. Her 2 sons and their wives were with her during her last illness.
The funeral services was held at the Community Church Thursday afternoon, July 5.
