J. H. Paty, a well-to-do and prominent farmer of the eastern portion of the county, died at his home near Milton quite suddenly on Tuesday, September 28th, age 68 years. He had gone out into the yard to look after some young chickens and in some manner ruptured a blood vessel. He walked back to the house and sat down on the porch. Members of the family went to his rescue and a physician was called by phone but ere he arrived he was dead. Mr. Paty had a severe case of the flue nearly a year ago from which he had never fully recovered. He is survived by his wife and 3 sons; Bernard Paty of Milton, Wilbur Paty of Paris, Texas and Frank Paty. He also leaves 2 brothers; J. G. Paty of Little Rock Arkansas, and C .E. Paty of Memphis.
