Deceased Name: LeRoy E. Frantz

CULLOM - LeRoy E. Frantz, 82, of rural Cullom died at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday (March 8, 2000) at OSF Saint James Hospital, Pontiac.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Cullom, the Rev. Deborah Talbott officiating. Burial with military rites will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Cullom. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church Hall, Cullom.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Mr. Frantz was born March 20, 1917, in Sullivan Township, Livingston County, a son of Elliot Adrian and Lottie Fern Coleman Frantz. He married Esther Pearl Spangler on June 23, 1939, in Rensselaer, Ind. She died Jan. 20, 1982.

Survivors include four sons, Jim (Donna) Frantz, Heyworth; Bill Frantz, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Larry (Teresa) Frantz, Pontiac; and Ed Frantz, Cullom; three daughters, Nancy (David) Flessner and Betsy Frantz, both of Cullom; and Donna (Paul) Burmeister, Fairbury; one sister, Violet Billerbeck, Cullom; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The grandchildren are Janice (Jay) McGinnis, Jeff (Jennie) Frantz, Joni Frantz, Erran (Bill) Melton, Tori Flessner, Ryan Burmeister, Adam Frantz, and Robbie Frantz.

Mr. Frantz was educated in Cullom schools and was a 1935 graduate of Cullom High School.

From 1935 to 1996 he owned and operated LeRoy Frantz and Son Trucking in Cullom.

Mr. Frantz served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II. He was a member of Cullom United Methodist Church, Skinner-Trost American Legion Post 122 of Cullom, and VFW Post 9789 of Fairbury.
