CLIFTON FOSTER MILTON of Jacksonville, Florida passed away early Saturday morning, October 27, 2012 at 3:55 AM. He was born in Hamilton County, Florida on January 23, 1926 to the late Charles Foster Milton and Wilcie Ida Green and was the thirteenth child of his Father.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Betty) Jean Milton and son Glenn Foster Milton, as well as Grandchildren, David Glenn Milton, Jason Allen Milton, Jared Alan Milton, Clifton William Milton and, Sharmain Powell and 13 Great Grandchildren.
He and Betty have been married for 65 wonderful years. Clifton retired from Civil Service working at NAS JAX for over 30 years. He also retired with honors as a Colonel from the Florida Army National Guard. During his service with the Florida Guard he commanded several critical units. His most satisfying assignment was as Commander of the 146th Signal Battalion located in Jacksonville, Florida. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and as such served in leadership positions and assignments and with his wife serving in both the Atlanta and Orlando Temples of the Church. Clifton learned to play the fiddle at an early age and enjoyed playing through out his life as member of a Bluegrass Band.
Services are scheduled for Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 461 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, Florida at 2:00 PM. Viewing for interested parties will be held at 12:30 PM in the Relief Society Room, same location. Interment will follow at Jacksonville Memory Gardens.
