Emily E. (Lumbard) Age 89, of Bethany Manor, Horseheads, New York, peacefully slept away on August 22, 2005. She was born in Elmira, NY on May 22, 1916 to the late Elmer and Martha (Roemmelt) Lumbard. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank P. Vogel; brother, George and wife, Helen Lumbard; brother, Norman Lumbard; niece, Betty Lumbard DeVore; and also brothers-in-law, Herman, William and Ludwig Vogel, Sidney Shoemaker and John Prapestis. Emily is survived by niece, Lois (Glenn) Cooper; and a nephew, Richard Lumbard both of Elmira; along with nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and several great-great-nieces and nephews and cousins. Also surviving are four sisters-in-law, Clara Lumbard Peroski, Mert Vogel, Louise Shoemaker and Marie Prapestis; and brother-in-law, Emil (Betty) Vogel of Buffalo, NY; and lifelong friend, Frieda Carpenter; two special neighbors and caregivers, Marlene (Chuck) LeMark and JoEllen (Ron) Hawley, both of Elmira. Emily was a life member of the First United Church of Christ and a devoted member of the Monday Morning Women's Guild. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, August 26th, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with Reverend Jane Winters officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
