Charles Rudolph Glaser, 77, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 1981 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah after a brief illness.

"Mr. Charlie" as he was known to his friends, was a retired grocer. He also worked for the U.S. Corps of engineers, Hickman Coal Company and was assistant fire chief for several years. He worked as a security guard at Carborundum and was the distributor for the Commercial Appeal for eight years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Glaser was born in Hickman, KY., on March 10, 1904, and was the son of the late George Rudolph and Dora Kittenger Glaser.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Wolberton Glaser (Argo), two sons, Charles G. Glaser of Havana, IL.,Paul W. Glaser of Fancy Farm, KY., one daughter Mary Beth Wombacher of Peoria Heights, IL., two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

Services were held Saturday March 28, at 2:00 p.m. at Chaney Funeral Home in Hickman. Rev. Merle Thomas officiated and burial was in the Hickman City Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Roland Wiseman, Clubb Stokes, Bill Abernathy, Charles Wiley, Austin Voorhees, Jim Whipple, Harry Poynor and Joe Cole. Honary pallbearers were Clois Patterson, John B Castleman, Gaither Glover, W.C. Tipton and Fred Stokes, Jr.

Those attending the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mr. A.E. Sturgeon, Mr. Richard Bailey and son Paul of Malden, MO., Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge Seavers of Mayfield, KY., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Seavers of Huntsville, AL., Mr. and Mrs. Jim Satterfield of Water Valley, KY., and Mr. and Mrs. John Beaver of Murray, KY.
