Mr. Ellis was born Nov. 2, 1917, in Wichita County. He and Lena Hudson were married Dec. 2, 1939, in Wichita Falls.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, was a self-employed paint contractor and had been a resident of Lubbock since 1947. He was a member of Cornerstone Assembly of God.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Clifford Ellis of Claude, Texas; three brothers, Jackie and Billy Glen Ellis both of Bowie, Texas, and Tom Ellis of Calif.; a sister, Gerane Russel of Odessa, Texas; five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
