Gladys Abbott, age 96, of Clarinda, Iowa, formerly of Nodaway, Iowa entered into peace Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Westridge Care & Rehab Center, Clarinda, Iowa.
Gladys Ola Abbott was born in Putnam County, Missouri on October 23, 1916 to John and Delpha (Barnhouse) Abbott. She moved to Iowa at a young age where her parents farmed in Mills, Montgomery and Adams County Iowa.
Her father died at a young age and left Gladys and her siblings to carry on.
Gladys and her mother farmed near Corning many years and later moved to Nodaway, Iowa.
Gladys was able to do many jobs, such as cut hair, plow garden plots; she drove the school bus for Nodaway and Villisca schools for many years.
She loved to dance and just have fun.
Gladys is survived by her nephew, Bill Miller of San Jose, California; sister-in-law, Cecilia Abbott of Wisconsin and many friends.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, brother and a nephew.
