Meadville, Pa The Meadville Tribune Friday, October 12, 2012, wrote by daughters & wife.

MEADVILLE — Kenneth Jay Bowersox, 53, of Meadville, returned to the Lord after a battle with heart disease on Oct. 11, 2012, at home. He was born July 25, 1959, in Meadville, the son of Dorcy G. and the late Ielene M. Slingluff Bowersox.

He was known by many as Chubs, a nickname he got after only a few months of life. Ken married Wanda L. Spencer, his one true love, on Sept. 27, 1980, in Guys Mills.

Ken was of the Christian faith. He attended Randolph High School, the Crawford County vo-tech school, where he studied tool and die, and the H.T. Kerr Center, where he learned to be a CNC programmer. He worked in a few tool shops in the area throughout his life.

After a heart attack in 2003, Ken was unable to continue activities that he had previously enjoyed, such as hunting, fishing and trapping, so he took up handguns and started going to the local shooting ranges. He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association and FOE Eagles Club of Meadville. He was an avid stamp collector, a pastime he picked up during childhood, and later in life had become a fan of the Ohio State University Buckeyes.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda; daughters Randi Peterson and her husband, Andrew, of Delaware, Ohio, and Chelsie Bowersox of Meadville; a soon to be born grandson, Jakob Peterson (yes, Grampy Kenney, you guessed it right); father, Dorcy G. Bowersox of Guys Mills; a brother, Robert (Bob) Bowersox and his wife, Carol, of Guys Mills; nephews, Michal and Robert Joseph Bowersox; eight great nieces and nephews; his beloved cat, Mimi, and dog, Mackie.

He was preceded in death by his mother; a great niece, Ashlee; grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.

Friends will be received at the Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., Cochranton, on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m., when a memorial service will be held with the Rev. Jeff Conley, of the Meadville Alliance Church, officiating.

Memorials can be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

Since his passing his grandsons Jakob & Spencer were born.
