Obituary Sumter, March 11 -- (Special) -- Mrs. William F. Phillips died suddenly at 8 o'clock Thursday evening at her home on Bagnal drive.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Nancy Caroline, Francis Nell, and Julia Lee; five sisters, Mrs. S. C. Leach of Lake City; Mrs. H. D. Poston of Denmark, Mrs. T. M. Ward of Sumter, Mrs. Murry Mixon of Port Chester, N. Y., and Mrs. Edith Stewart of Florence; three brothers, Harry L. Grooms of Sumter, Jimmie Grooms of Cowards, and Lonnie Grooms of Florence.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the Church of the Holy Comforter in Sumter, conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Frank V. D. Fortune, assisted by the Rev. J. B. Walker. Interment will follow in the churchyard of Church of the Holy Cross at Statesburg. The body will remain at the Hurst funeral home until the hour of services.
