The Lebanon Enterprise, 1/4/1935:

George W. Thomas, 81 years old, succumbed Wednesday night at 9:00 o'clock at his home on the Calvary Pike. His death, which was due to general senility, did not come unexpectedly as for several years he had been in failing health & in recent months had declined rapidly. The body was brought to Bosley's Funeral Home & this morning will be taken to Holy Mary's Church at Calvary where funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. J.P. Welsh at 9:00 o'clock. Burial will take place in Holy Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Thomas is survived by his second wife & eleven children, five daughters & six sons, by his first marriage. They are as follows: Mrs. W.W. Ellis, Mrs. John Ryan & Mrs. Harold Lee, all of this county, & Mrs. Len Wheatley & Mrs. John Ewing, both of Louisville, & William R. Thomas of Pontiac, Mich.; J.E. Thomas of Louisville & Leo, B.H., J.L., & M. Ray Thomas, all of this county.
