Mrs. Katherine Gaylord, widow of Asher Gaylord, died last Sunday at No. 413 1-2 West Water street, aged seventy years. Mrs. Gaylord had been a resident of this city a number of years, residing, with, her daughter, Mrs. Cora Gaylord Ryon. She was the widow of Captain Asher Gaylord, of Company D, 143rd Pennsylvania volunteers, who was killed at Hatcher Run, Va , February 7, 1865, after serving his country in the field for more than three years.
Besides her daughter, there survives, two grand children, Elizabeth Marguerite Riggs and Asher Gaylord Riggs, children of Mrs. Ryon. An only son, Henderson Gaylord. who was a lawyer here, died ten years ago.
