Myrtle H. Church, 90, 120
Log Cabin Road, Elizabethton,
died Sunday, January 22,
2006, at Life Care Center of
Elizabethton following an
extended illness.
Mrs. Church was a native
of Carter County and the
daughter of the late Dan and
Rose Jenkins Hardin. In addition
to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her
husband, Luther A. Church,
a son, Stanley Raymond
"Buddy" Church, a grandson,
Ron Kyte, and by several
brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Church was a member
of Beck Mountain Baptist
Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a
daughter and son-in-law,
Norma Jean and Jady Kyte,
Elizabethton; a son and
daughter-in-law, Richard
"Rick" and Kay Church, Elizabethton;
a sister, Dorothy
Hardin Joines, Elizabethton;
four grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; five
great-great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews;
and a special friend, Hope
Arnold, Life Care Center of
Elizabethton.
The funeral service for
Mrs. Church will be conducted
at 8 p.m. Wednesday, January
25, in the Riverside
Chapel of Tetrick Funeral
Home with Rev. Ronnie
Campbell officiating. The
family will receive friends at
the funeral home Wednesday
from 6 p.m. until the service
hour. Friends may also call at
the residence of her son,
Richard "Rick" Church, and
daughter, Norma Jean Kyte,
at anytime. The graveside
service and interment will be
conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday,
January 26, at Hardin
Cemetery. Active pallbearers
will be Doug Stevenson,
Steve McNeal, Phil Nave,
Glen Hardin, Derek Peters,
Jared Kyte and Danny
Williams. Honorary pallbearers
will be Ernie, Howard
and Don Carden, Jim Andrews,
Howard Matherly
and Lester Reed. Those who
wish to attend the graveside
service are asked to meet at
the funeral home at 10:15
a.m. Thursday to go in procession
to the cemetery. A
special thank you to the
Third Floor and Emergency
Room Doctors and Nurses at
Sycamore Shoals Hospital
and to the Fourth Floor and
Emergency Room Doctors
and Nurses at Johnson City
Medical Center. A special
thank you to Margaret Bowers,
Pat Blevins, Trula Berry,
Susie Sneed, Betty Blue and
Della Schortiano and additional
staff of Life Care Center
of Elizabethton. Those
who prefer memorials in lieu
