According the 1850 & 1860 census reports and his marriage license he was the son of William F. & Mary Gordon.
William married Julia in Boston, MA on Sept 5, 1863, he was living in Haverhill, MA at the time.
This headstone was erected to the Memory of Corporal William L. Gordon, who enlisted in Company H, 2nd Heavy Artillery Regiment on Dec. 7, 1863.

Died at Andersonville, Georgia July 5, 1864
His burial site is in a National Cemetery
