Son of son of Celia Stachowiak Lipczynski and John Lipczynski.

Joseph served as a Staff Sergeant, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Erie County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on November 4, 1942 in Buffalo, New York. He was noted as being employed in the building of aircraft and also as Single, without dependents.

Joseph was "Killed In Action" over Blechhammer, Germany during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

His brother, Sgt Robert G Lipczynski, also died during the war.

Staff Sgt. Joseph D. Lipczynski was the son of Celia Stachowiak and John Lipczynski of Buffalo, NY who died in Blechhammer, Germany. Joseph was an aerial engineer in the AAF. He was given a reburial in 1948 to St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Buffalo, NY. He was provided an honor guard by Red Jacket Post, VFW. . He had 3 other siblings, Sgt. Robert Lipczynski, Dorothy and Beatrice.
