Albert A. Nutz, 85, of Midland, passed away, Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Friendship Ridge surrounded by his family. Born May 15, 1923 in Midland, he was the son of the late Patsy and Rose DiCappio Nutz and had been a resident of Midland most of his life. He retired after 40 years from the Cold Strip at Crucible Steel, Colt Industries, Midland, and was a faithful member of the St. Blaise Parish family, Midland. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he earned several medals during World War II including the Purple Heart. Al was an active member and former Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council 2005, Midland, and was a member of the Catholic Men's Fellowship and the Disabled American Veterans. He will be sadly missed by his family including his wife of nearly 59 years, Mary R. Rachinski Nutz, whom he married Sept. 1, 1949; two sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick D. and Joyce Mullett Nutz, Warrenton, Va., and Albert J. and Sharon Schuster Nutz, Aliquippa; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia A. and Robert Gold, Anaheim, Calif., and Mary "Gina" and Mark Allgeier, Erie; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Toni Nutz, New Castle; a sister, Julia Gelormino, Coraopolis; six granddaughters, Erin, Hannah, Gretchen and Shelby Nutz, Jennifer and Lindsay Gold; three grandsons and their wives, Aaron (Jody) O'Brien, Derek (Tia) O'Brien, Morgan (Serena) O'Brien; four great-grandchildren, Ainsleigh and Candice O'Brien, Cameron and Logan O'Brien, numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
