Martin Horace Bradshaw, Jr. (79) died on Jan 12th, 9:05 am at Floyd Hospital. He was the son of Martin Horace Bradshaw, Sr. and Gertrude Cheney Bradshaw.

Mr. Bradshaw was born April 26, 1930 in Floyd County. He was retired and a member of the First Baptist Church. He attended Cooper Hall from 1936 to 1942, Darlington School 1942 to 1948 and the University of Georgia, 1948 to 1950. In 1950 he was drafted into the Army but joined the Air Force and served during the Korean War. He became a Statistician Specialist and was honorably discharged in 1951.

After being discharged he returned to Rome and worked with his father on the family cotton and soybean farm. Cattle were raised also. In April 1962, he was chosen as an agricultural Good Will Ambassador for President Eisenhower's People to People trips. During this assignment he visited Russia, Poland, Czechoslavakia, Hungary, Ukraine, Germany, France, Holland, Belgium and Ireland. In 1963 he was chosen again as an ambassador for Eisenhower's People to People trip to Mexico.

Mr. Bradshaw was a member of the Rome Exchange Club for twelve years, and served as the Coosa Valley Fair director. He is survived by Lola Caldwell Bradshaw, his wife of 44 years, his son Martin Horace Bradshaw, III, daughter in law, Allyson McEarcharn Bradshaw, granddaughter Lillie Holland Bradshaw, two sisters: Mrs. Cheney Bradshaw Donahue and Mrs. Charlotte Bradshaw Gravy and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Daniel's Funeral Home Thursday January 14th at 2:30 pm with Dr. Joel Snider officiating, interment will follow in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion will have charge of military graveside rites.

The family respectfully asked in lieu of flowers that donations be made either to Darlington School, 1014 Cave Spring Rd. Rome, GA 30161, First Baptist Church, 100 East 4th Ave. Rome, GA 30161 or Heyman Hospice, 420 East Second Ave. Rome, GA 30161.
