Both June 11, 1900 in Allison Township , he was the son of Oran Earl Calvert and Florence Judith Weller Calvert. A member of the Free Methodist Church, he was owner of Ambraw Gravel Co., and Calvert Brick Co., Mr Calvert helped to establish Lawrence Count Memorial hospital and later serves as a member of its board of directors. We also was instrumental in getting state approval for Red Hills State Part, Named "Outstanding Kiwanian of 1958," he also served as Kiwanis president and treasure for several years. A former president of Lawrence county Historical Society, he also served as president of Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, on the Lawrenceville Elementary School Board of Education and on the Lawrence County Housing Authority Board.
Dec. 30, 1922, her married Edna Monjar and she preceded him in death March 31, 1986. Four brothers and a sister are also deceased.
Survivors include three sons, Marvin Calvert, Blackwood, N.J., Thomas Edwin Calvert, Lawrenceville, David Windsor Calvert, San Antonio, Texas: a daughter, Mrs. Paul. (Marjorie) Reed, Lawrenceville; three brothers, Wilbur Calvert, Dayton, Ohio, Merle Calvert, Lawrenceville, and Donald Calvert, Coquille, Ore.: 10 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
The funeral is 10 A.M. Saturday at Emmons-Macey Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, Illinois with the Rev. James Rea, the Rev, John Lefler and Ronnie Crawford officiating. Interment is in Lawrenceville Cemetery.
