Visitation for Don Ellis will be Sunday and Monday, at the Martin Funeral Home and then private family services for Don Ellis will be held under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City.
Donald Wayne Ellis was born November 2, 1949 at Elk City to Raymond and Rubye (French) Ellis and passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the age of 62. He graduated from Elk City High School and then continued his education at the School of the Ozarks and then Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He then enlisted in the US Navy in 1974 where he served in Operation Desert Storm and then retired in 1994. He worked for a brief time in the Wal Mart General Office in Bentonville, AR until the death of his father in 2001 when he returned to Elk City to care for his mother. Don was preceded in death by his father and an infant brother.
Survivors include his mother; Rubye Ellis of the Elk City home, a sister, Jerry Metz and her husband Jim of Burns Flat, OK, 2 brothers, Kent Ellis of Los Angeles, CA, Larry Ellis and his partner Jerry Dyer of Bethany, OK, niece, Jerian Moeller and her husband Carv and their children, Zach, Zoe and Nick, nephew Gary Duggar, nephew, Scott Ellis and his wife Stephanie and their son, Cade, Jeff Ellis and his wife Misti and their daughter, Kaden, niece Bridget Carpenter and her husband Chris and their children, Bailey and Jacob, sister in law, Jan McConnell and a host of other family and friends.
