Floyd Reck, age 84 of Faribault, died on Monday, October 22, 2012 at St. Lucas Care Center, Faribault.
Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Faribault on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 12 Noon with the Reverend Dr. Armand J. Boehme and the Reverend Steven J. Kuehne officiating. Interment will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault with military honors provided by the Central Veterans Association.
Memorial visitation will be at church for two hours prior to the service on Thursday.
Arrangements are being completed by the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.
Floyd Eugene, the son of Eugene and Bernice Reck, was born on November 2, 1927 in Appleton, WI. He married Ruth Kramer in 1956 and she preceded him in death on July 24, 1966. Floyd married Mertice (Martin) McCloskey on May 29, 1969 in Faribault. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1954 and the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1968. He later worked as an adjuster for Town and Country Insurance, Faribault. Floyd was a member of the Faribault Country Club, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid bowler.
He is survived by his wife, Mertice of Faribault; children, Doug Reck of Minnetonka, Deb Reck of Faribault, Lynn (and Rick) McCloskey Rundles of CA, Lola (and Jake) McCloskey Brand of Faribault, Daniel McCloskey of Faribault, and David (and Deb) McCloskey of CO; nine grandchildren, Ryan, Jonathon, Jennifer, Lucas, Lana (and Luke), Alex, Taylor, Shainah and Kyle; one great grandchild, Delaney; sister, Judy Faye and an aunt, Eunice Verbeck of Appleton, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ruth; and brother, Joe Schermie.
