He married Emelia Caldwell, born in Hartford, Conn., Apr. 10, 1793. Joseph Sterling died Mar. 4, 1839, at Adams, Jefferson County, N. Y., and Emelia Caldwell Sterling died Apr. 22, 1848 in Adams, N.Y.
