Funeral Set for Sunday
Mrs. Mira Langston, who made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Harry King, at 921 East Fourth street, died this morning at the home. She would have been 81 years of old July 9.
Mrs. Langston had not been well for several months and on April 16 she suffered a stroke of paralysis from which she had never recovered use of her left side.
Mrs. Langston was born was born July 9, 1859, in Hancock county, Ill., the daughter of Harriet and James McChesney. She was married to John Eshelman February 2, 1882, who died July 10, 1899. To them were born eight children, all of whom survive with the exception of one daughter, Mrs. Jessie Hayes, whose death occured in 1907. Mrs. Langston's second husband, Christopher Langston, to whom she was married in 1911, died in March, 1923.
Mrs. Langston united with the Maryville Christian church about 1905, later transferring her membership to the church of Hopkins.l
She leaves the following children: Mrs. Purd Ashford, Quitman; Homer Eshelman, Burlington Junction; Mrs. Harvey Howard, Hopkins; Mrs. King; Mrs. Lloyd Burch, Bedford; Roy Eshelman, Durango, Calif.; and Mrs. Galen Ulmer, Hopkins. A sister, Mrs. Lillie Cunningham of Los Angeles, thrity-five grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church in Hopkins by Rev. Sherman B. Moore of Maryville. Burial will be in the Hopkins cemetery.
