Married Feb. 14, 1919 to Margaret Holan at Fairbury, Neb.
Father of four children: Helen, Laura, Wanda and Glen.
He was a farmer, machinist and blacksmith.

JOHN G. CHALOUPKA was born September 7, 1891, at Reynolds, Nebraska, to George and Mary Cerny Chaloupka, and died February 22, 1988, at the Long Term Care Unit of the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, at the age of 96 years, 5 months and 15 days.

He attended rural school between Reynolds and Thompson, Nebraska. The family moved to Narka in 1908, where he spent the rest of his life, until he entered Long Term Care 3 years ago.

He was a farmer, machinist and blacksmith. He began blacksmithing when he was 14.

He was stationed with the U.S. Army at Ft. Riley, Kansas in 1918.

He was married to Margaret Holan on February 14, 1919, at
Fairbury, and to this union four children were born. The couple lived on the same farm 62 years.
He was a 75 year member of the Narka Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Royal Arch in Belleville, the Commandry in Concordia and the Iais Shrine in Salina. He and his wife were charter members of the Narka Chapter of Eastern Star. He was a member of the American Legion of Cuba, Z.C.B.J. Lodge, Munden and the Narka Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Anna; brother, Joseph; daughter, Helen Marsicek; grandson, Gary Hakes.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Belleville Health Care Center; His children, Mrs. Wesley (Laura) Vytlacil, Clyde, Glen Chaloupka, Munden, Mrs. B. (Wanda) Hakes, Beatrice; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held February 24, at the Narka Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tom Ballard officiating. A masonic interment service was also conducted at the church. Burial was at National Cemetery, south of Narka.
