Mr. Touchstone was born Nov. 20, 1904 in Clarke County, MS to parents George W. and Sabra (Carter) Touchstone and passed away June 9, 2002 in Shreveport, LA. He was pioneer in the taxidermy field owning and operating Touchstone Taxidermy, Touchstone Wildlife and Art Museum, and Touchstone Taxidermy Supply. Mr. Touchstone was a Christian for 67 years of his life, member and Head Deacon at Cathedral Baptist Church, past member and chairman of the board of deacons at Bossier City First Baptist Church, and he helped start Northside Baptist Church, Temple Baptist Church, Eastwood (Hill Crest) Baptist Church and Open Door Baptist Church.
Mr. Touchstone was preceded in death by a son, Ned Touchstone. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lura Touchstone of Haughton; three sons: William Touchstone of Sun City, AZ; Sammy Touchstone and wife Betty of Baton Rouge, LA, Wesley Touchstone and wife, Amber of Haughton; two daughters, Mrs. Laura T. Norris and husband Mark of Princeton; Ms. Samantha T. Olson of Haughton; four step-children, Rodney Bryant of Bossier City; Darvell Bryant of Elm Grove; Jimmy Bryant of Haughton; and Norma McComb and husband Johnny of Tyler, TX; sister, Mrs. Capitola Moore of Shreveport; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great and great great grand children and other relatives.
