Bernie was survived by his daughters: Cindy G. Martinez of Tierra Amarilla and Berna Quintana (Freddy) of Española; sons: Bernie Garcia Jr. (Donnamae) of Tierra Amarilla and Phillip Garcia (Angela) of Albuquerque; grandchildren: Tamarah Martinez of Alamosa, Colorado; Bernie Garcia III (Suehailey) of North Carolina; Andrew Garcia of Tierra Amarilla; Carlos Quintana of Española; Abigail Garcia; and Ryan Garcia of Albuquerque; great-grandson Ty Andrew Garcia of North Carolina; sisters: Dulcinea Olguin of La Mesilla and Rebecca Moya (Donald) of Aztec; sister in-law Tere Garcia of Cortez, Colorado; brothers-in-law: Julio Martinez of Tierra Amariila, Gabe Valdez (Margie) of Albuquerque, and Felix Valdez (Lorraine) of Bernalillo.
Recitation of Rosary was on March 10, 2011 in Tierra Amarilla at Santo Niño Church. Funeral Service was on March 11, 2011 also at Santo Niño Church. Interment followed in the Cebolla Catholic Cemetery.
